Bond Over Bites Message – June 2025

Hi everyone!  We have had an amazing first year! Sherry and I are so thankful for all the hard work each of you has done! The TIPS staff and Truro church members have also been so grateful for the help in the kitchen you have provided.

The Bond over Bites Volunteer Appreciation Lunch on May 22nd was a great celebration!  Myra, Heather, Nahiroby and others made sure that this was a beautiful and meaningful day.  The theme of the lunch was a classic English Tea (click for more info) with dainty sandwiches, scones, and various types of tea to choose from.  Each table was decorated with flowers, teacups, and a tiered stand to hold plates filled with delightful treats. Everyone also was presented with a personalized certificate honoring their volunteer service this year.

If you missed getting your certificate, please contact Sherry or me and we will arrange to get it to you!

We have talked about having a Bond over Bites Summer Program this year to keep everyone fresh with their kitchen skills.  However, the Truro kitchen is undergoing a makeover and will be under construction for much of the summer.  So, we will pause the plans and come back in August or early September with an event to introduce you to the new updated kitchen.  It should be a huge improvement with new cabinets, flooring, and updated storage!

Many of our volunteers have gotten good jobs or have been visiting (or moving to) other countries.  It is sad for us who remain behind. Know that we remember you as you go and pray for all of you often.

Blessings to you all!  Have a wonderful summer!

All the best,

Kristine and Sherry
